Pode ser substantivo ou adjetivo. Como substantivo: 'social standing', 'good standing' (reputação ou posição). Como adjetivo: 'standing ovation'. Não confunda com 'stand' (verbo/ação). Usado tanto para a posição física quanto para status ou reputação.
