रंगीन निशान या धब्बे जो हटाना मुश्किल होता है, अक्सर कपड़ों, कपड़े या सतहों पर दिखाई देते हैं। 'Stains' 'stain' का बहुवचन है।

Usage Notes (Hindi)

अक्सर यह अवांछित निशानों के लिए इस्तेमाल होता है जो भोजन, पेय, स्याही या गंदगी से आते हैं। 'coffee stains' या 'blood stains' जैसे वाक्यांशों में आम है। कभी-कभी यह रूपक रूप में ('stains on his reputation') भी आता है। 'spots' से न भ्रमित करें, जो बिन्दुओं या दानों के लिए हो सकता है।
