Definition
ブタなどが高く鋭い声で鳴くことや、人が驚いて甲高い声を出すこと。スラングでは誰かを警察などに密告する意味もある。
Usage Notes (Japanese)
動物や子どもの甲高い声、ブレーキやタイヤの音に使われます。スラングでは“squealed to the police”のように密告する意味もあります。“scream”や“yell”とは使い方が異なります。
