Definition

무언가를 표면, 기간, 또는 영역에 펼치거나 나누어 할당하는 것. 물리적으로 펼치는 경우나 시간, 작업을 나누는 상황 모두에 사용됨.

'is spread over'처럼 수동태로 자주 쓰며, 시간, 비용, 업무를 분산할 때 많이 사용함. 'spread out'과 달리 간격을 두고 놓는 뜻은 없음.

She spread over the map to find the country.

그녀는 나라를 찾기 위해 지도를 **펼쳤다**.

The meetings are spread over three days.

회의는 3일에 걸쳐 **분산된다**.
