Definition

أفكار أو تخمينات حول ما قد يحدث أو حول شيء غير معروف بالتأكيد. كما يمكن أن تشير إلى أنشطة مالية محفوفة بالمخاطر لتحقيق الربح في أوضاع غير مؤكدة.

Usage Notes (Arabic)

تستخدم في الحديث اليومي (التخمين حول الأحداث) وفي الاقتصاد (تداول مخاطِر). غالباً تأتي بصيغة الجمع عند الحديث عن عدة توقعات: "speculations about"، "speculations that". لا تخلط بينها وبين "rumors" (شائعات = أخبار غير مؤكدة؛ speculations = أفكار أو تخمينات).
