Definition
연극에서 등장인물이 무대 위에서 혼자 있을 때 자신의 생각을 관객에게 들리도록 소리 내어 말하는 것을 말합니다.

대개 문학이나 연극에서 쓰이며 일상에서는 잘 쓰이지 않습니다. '모노로그'(혼자 길게 말하는 것)와 달리 '독백'은 스스로에게 하는 말처럼 연기됩니다.
