‘Soared’ 常見於新聞、商業及描述飛行動作如 'prices soared'（價格飆升）、'eagles soared'（鷹隼高飛）、'temperatures soared'（氣溫飆升）。總是表示突然且大幅度的上升。不要和 'sore'（痛）或 'sword'（劍）混淆。
