Describe algo que dificulta respirar o sentirse libre, ya sea físicamente (como estar cubierto y sin poder respirar) o emocionalmente (como demasiada atención o control).

Muy usado para situaciones físicas (peligro de asfixia) y también en relaciones (cuando alguien es demasiado controlador o cariñoso). Suele tener connotación negativa; 'smothering love' significa un afecto asfixiante o excesivo.
