"sleep away" in Spanish
Definition
Pasar un período de tiempo, o hacer que algo pase, durmiendo en lugar de hacer otra cosa. Se usa a menudo cuando alguien duerme para escapar del aburrimiento, la tristeza o para esperar que algo desagradable termine.

Expresión informal y un poco idiomática; se usa mucho para evadir sentimientos negativos o 'matar el tiempo'. Común con objetos: 'sleep the day away' → 'dormir todo el día'. No se usa en contextos formales.
