姉妹

Definition

「姉妹」とは、同じ親を持つ女性たちのことです。とても仲の良い女性同士もこう呼ぶことがあります。

多くの場合、実の姉妹や異母・異父姉妹を指します。日本語では「姉」（older）、「妹」（younger）と区別します。「姉妹」のままでも使えます。比喩的に親しい女性にも用います。

I have two sisters.

私は**姉妹**が二人います。

My sisters live in another city.

私の**姉妹**は別の都市に住んでいます。

The three sisters are playing outside.

三人の**姉妹**が外で遊んでいます。

My sisters and I still laugh about that trip.
