Definition

シルエットは、明るい背景を背にして見える、人や物の輪郭や影のような形で、詳細ではなく外枠だけが見える状態です。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

主にアートや写真、物語で使われ、印象的な雰囲気や形を強調したい時によく用いられます。「shadow（影）」とは違い、詳細ではなく外形のみを表します。「in silhouette」という表現がよく使われます。
