어떤 것의 위, 아래, 앞, 뒤가 아닌 부분 또는 면. 의견이나 입장, 옆에 있는 위치를 말하기도 함.

일상적으로 자주 쓰이며, 'on the side', 'choose a side' 등 구에서도 사용됨. 물리적 위치와 의견, 입장 모두 표현할 때 쓸 수 있음.

The book is on the side of the table.

책이 테이블 **옆**에 있다.
