Definition

물이나 습기가 부족하거나 나이가 들어서 작고 주름지고 마르는 상태를 말한다. 주로 식물, 과일, 사람 또는 감정에 대해 사용된다.

비공식적이고 유머러스하게 흔히 쓰입니다. 식물, 과일 외에도 신체 부위, 감정에도 비유적으로 사용함(‘shrivel up and die’는 완전히 위축되는 느낌). 단순한 ‘주름’과는 다릅니다.

If you don't water the plant, it will shrivel up.

식물에 물을 주지 않으면 **오그라들어요**.
