一種用便宜材料搭建的小房子，通常出現在貧困地區。「Shanty」也可指水手傳統歌曲（sea shanty）。

多用於形容貧困地區的簡陋住宅，屬於書面或文學語氣。「Shanty town」為有許多這種小屋的地區。不能與「別墅」混淆。歌唱用法時必須講「sea shanty」。
