"seriousness" in Korean
Definition
농담이나 장난이 아닌 진심으로 대하거나 생각하는 태도. 또한 어떤 상황이나 일이 얼마나 중대한지 나타낼 때도 사용됨.
Usage Notes (Korean)
'the seriousness of the situation', 'with great seriousness' 등 공식적이거나 중립적인 상황에서 더 자주 쓰임. 일반 대화에서 사람을 설명할 때는 'serious'가 더 자연스럽다. 'severity'(심각함/가혹함)와는 강조점이 다름.
