Definition

大会や試合で、決勝の1つ前のラウンドで、通常は4つのチームや選手が争い、勝者が決勝に進みます。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

常に複数形で使います（2試合あるため）。スポーツや大会でよく使われます。「セミファイナル（semifinals）」の口語的表現はあまりありません。「準々決勝」（quarterfinals）や「決勝」（finals）と混同しないようにしましょう。
