Definition

‘আসন’ এমন একটি বস্তু যেখানে বসা যায়, যেমন চেয়ার বা গাড়ির আসন। এটি কোনো পদ বা স্থানের অর্থেও ব্যবহৃত হয়, যেমন সংসদের আসন।

Usage Notes (Bengali)

‘Take a seat’ মানে ‘বসুন’। ‘Window seat’ হচ্ছে জানালার পাশের আসন। বাস, ট্রেন বা অনুষ্ঠানে নির্দিষ্ট আসনের জন্য ‘reserve a seat’ বলা হয়। রাজনীতিতে ‘seat’ মানে পদ।
