Definition

サーチライトは、強力な集光ビームを持つライトで、夜間の捜索や照明、警備、イベントなどで使われます。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

主に大規模な屋外や公式の場（警備、救助、軍事、イベント照明など）で使われます。一般家庭にはありません。「beam」「sweep the sky」「turn on/off the searchlight」などの表現とよく一緒に使われます。時に強い注目や集中を例える比喩としても使われます。
