石や木、粘土などの素材を削ったり形作ったりして芸術作品や像を作ること。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

通常、芸術作品や立体像を作る際に使います。'sculpt in clay'や 'sculpt from marble' のように材料もよく指定します。'carve'（主に木や食べ物に使う）とは異なります。比喩的に 'sculpt your body' のようにも使われます。フォーマルまたは芸術的な場で使うことが多いです。
