Definition

誰かのために、座ったまま少し下や横にずれること。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

くだけた表現で、椅子やソファなどに座っているときによく使う。立ったままの移動には使わない。

Examples

Could you scoot down so I can sit here?

ここに座りたいので、少し**ずれて**くれますか？

Please scoot down so everyone fits on the bench.

みんながベンチに座れるように、**ちょっとずれて**ください。
