Definition

子どもや小動物などが、小さく軽やかに素早く動き回ること。ふざけたり、急いだりしている場面で使う。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

主に子どもや動物について使われ、日常会話や描写で使われる語です。「dash」や「dart」よりも軽やかで遊び心のある動きを表します。大人や正式な場面には使いません。
