青ねぎは、細長い緑色の茎と小さな白い根元を持つ若い玉ねぎで、生でも加熱しても食べられる野菜です。

アメリカ英語では'green onion'とも呼び、イギリスでは'spring onion'と呼ばれることもありますが、区別がある場合も。白い部分と緑の部分の両方使えます。'チャイブ'とは異なります。
