यह वाक्यांश तब प्रयोग होता है जब किसी को कुछ कहा जाता है। 'Say' के बाद 'to' लगाकर व्यक्ति का उल्लेख करें; 'tell' सीधे व्यक्ति के साथ इस्तेमाल होता है ('tell someone'), जबकि 'say to' में 'to' जरूरी है।
