Definition

SAEは「自動車技術者協会」（Society of Automotive Engineers）の略で、エンジンオイルや潤滑油の粘度等級を表す時に使われます。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

『SAE』は『SAE 10W-40』などオイルの種類と一緒に使われ、ブランド名ではありません。粘度を表します。自動車関連の場面で使われ、必ず大文字で表記されます。
