다른 사람보다 앞서 달리거나, 예상보다 더 빨리 진행되는 것을 의미한다.

일상적으로 사용되며, 실제로 앞서서 달릴 때나 업무가 예상보다 빠를 때 모두 쓴다. 'run ahead of schedule'은 일정보다 빨리 진행됨을 뜻한다.

The children run ahead to the playground.
