평소의 편의시설 없이, 불편하고 간소한 환경에서 잠시 지내는 것.

비공식적으로 쓰이며, 주로 캠핑·여행 등 일시적으로 불편을 감수해야 할 때 사용. 영구적 어려움을 의미하지 않음. 'have to', 'will', 'Can you rough it?' 등과 자주 사용됨.
