किसी जगह से हिल न पाना, या तो सदमे, डर, हैरानी या छोड़ना न चाहने के कारण।
Usage Notes (Hindi)
आम तौर पर हैरानी या डर के कारण जड़ से बंधा रहना ('rooted to the spot')। यह शाब्दिक नहीं है। इसे 'rooted in' (आधारित) से न मिलाएँ।
