'Soyguncu' şiddet veya tehdit kullanarak çalar; 'hırsız' gizlice, 'ev soyguncusu' ise binalara girerek çalar. 'Banka soyguncusu', 'silahlı soyguncu' gibi terimlerde kullanılır.
