한동안 사라졌던 것이 다시 나타나거나 주목받는 것. 도로나 표면을 새로 덮는 것도 의미함.

과거의 일이 다시 떠오를 때나, 누군가 혹은 무언가가 다시 등장할 때 쓴다. 도로가 '재포장되다'로도 쓸 수 있다. 대개 수동형으로 자주 쓰임.
