Colocar algo de volta ao estado ou configuração original, especialmente após um erro ou para recomeçar. Muito usado com eletrónicos, computadores ou para situações de recomeço.

É usado como verbo ('redefinir a palavra-passe', 'resetar o dispositivo') e como substantivo ('botão de reset'). É neutro/formal. Não confundir com 'reiniciar', pois 'reset' apaga configurações e dados anteriores.
