공식적이고 격식을 갖춘 상황에서 주로 사용합니다. 일상적으로는 '꾸짖다', '혼내다' 같은 표현이 더 자연스럽습니다. 'receive a reprimand'는 공식적으로 질책을 받는다는 뜻입니다.
