特定の場所やイベント、組織で誰かや何かを公式に代表して行動したり話したりすること。

会議や競技会、組織などで使われることが多いです（「法廷で代表する」など）。フォーマルな表現で、どこで代表するかを明確にします。「represent for」と混同しないように注意しましょう。
