কাউকে বা কিছু দূরে ঠেলে দেওয়া অথবা দূরে যেতে বাধ্য করা; কারও প্রতি খুব অপছন্দ বা বিরক্তি অনুভব করাও বোঝায়।

শারীরিক এবং মানসিক দুই অর্থেই ব্যবহার করা যায়। 'repelled by' মানে তীব্র অপছন্দ বা বিরক্তি।
