指在一部分被使用、拿走或移除之後，仍然留下的東西。用來描述還沒有完成、用完或消失的部分。

常放在名詞前面，如 'the remaining time'、'the remaining money'。它比口語裡的 'the rest' 或 'what's left' 更中性或更正式。不要把它當作主要動詞使用；動詞形式是 'remain'。
