屈折

Definition

屈折とは、光や音などの波が異なる物質に入るときに進む方向が変わる現象です。水の中のストローが曲がって見えるのはこのためです。

主に理科や物理で使われる言葉です。「angle of refraction」や「index of refraction」などと一緒に使われることが多いです。「反射（reflection）」とは異なり、波の進行方向が変わるときに用います。
