움찔한다물러선다

Definition

놀라거나 두려워서 또는 충격을 받아 갑자기 뒤로 물러서는 것. 혐오감이나 두려움을 강하게 느낄 때에도 쓴다.

신체적으로 움직이거나 감정적으로 거부감을 보일 때 모두 사용. 'recoils in horror'는 공포로 움찔하며 물러선다는 뜻. 천천히 움직일 때는 사용하지 않음.

The cat recoils when it sees the dog.

고양이는 개를 보면 **움찔한다**.

He recoils from touching the snake.

그는 뱀을 만지는 것에 **물러선다**.

The crowd recoils at the loud noise.

사람들은 큰 소리에 **물러선다**.
