Definition

手紙やプレゼント、メッセージなど何かをもらうこと。また、誰かを正式に迎える、気持ちや情報を受け入れる意味もある。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

「receives」は三人称単数形で、「手紙を受け取る」「賞を受け取る」「客を迎える」などに使う。スポーツで物をキャッチする時は使わない。
