आम तौर पर भूतकाल में प्रयोग होता है, जब चिंता या डर कम किया गया हो। 'आश्वस्त महसूस किया' या 'इसके द्वारा आश्वस्त किया गया' जैसी अभिव्यक्तियाँ आम हैं। औपचारिक और रोज़मर्रा की बातचीत दोनों में आम।
