作物を刈り取ること、または行動の結果として何かを得ることを意味します。
Usage Notes (Japanese)
フォーマルや文学的な表現でよく使います。たとえば「reaps rewards（報酬を得る）」や「reaps what he sows（自業自得）」など、比喩的な使い方も一般的です。果物を取る時には使いません。
