무엇인가를 찾기 위해 어지럽게, 빨리 뒤지는 것. 일반적으로 도난이나 금전적 가치를 위해 쓰인다.

보통 도둑이 귀중품을 찾기 위해 집안이나 방을 뒤엎는 상황에서 쓰인다. 수동태로 자주 사용하며, 정리된 검색에는 사용하지 않는다.
