Definition

কোনো পরিস্থিতিতে ঝুঁকি, প্রতিযোগিতা বা চ্যালেঞ্জ বাড়ানো বোঝায়। সাধারণত কারো উদ্যোগ বা দাবি বাড়ানোকে বোঝাতে ব্যবহৃত হয়।

Usage Notes (Bengali)

'raise the ante' সাধারণত অফিস, ব্যবসা বা খেলাধুলার আলাপে ব্যবহার হয়। 'up the ante' বা 'raise the stakes' বাক্যাংশের সাথে মিল আছে। টাকার প্রসঙ্গে না হলে, ঝুঁকি বা চ্যালেঞ্জ বোঝাতে বলা হয়।
