시간이 부족하거나 누군가와 경쟁하여 아주 빠르게 일을 처리하려고 하는 것.

'race against time'은 촉박한 상황에 주로 쓰이며, 평범한 경쟁에는 잘 쓰이지 않는다. 다른 사람과의 경쟁을 나타낼 때도 쓸 수 있다.
