Definition

정보, 뉴스, 소문 등을 많은 사람이 알게 하도록 퍼뜨리는 것.

주로 비공식적이고 소문, 험담 등 이야기할 때 자주 쓴다. 'put a rumor round' 같은 표현이 많음. 일부러 퍼뜨리는 뉘앙스를 준다.

Someone put round the idea that the company would close soon.

누군가 회사가 곧 문을 닫는다는 얘기를 **퍼뜨렸다**.
