"put on the spot" in Korean

상대방이 준비하지 못한 상태에서 곤란한 질문을 하거나 난처한 상황에 몰아넣어 당황하게 하는 것.

비공식적인 상황에서 자주 쓰며 수동적으로 '나는 곤란한 상황에 놓였다'처럼 사용된다. 회의나 여러 사람 앞에서 질문할 때 흔히 등장한다.
