膨脹或鼓起來，通常因充滿空氣或驕傲。有時指物體變大，也可以用於形容某人變得自大。

既可以字面（身體或物體鼓起），也可以比喻（人變得自大）。常用於麵包、食物、臉頰、情緒或自大。屬於非正式用語。不要跟 'puff out' 搞混（意思是讓某物突出）。
