어떤 일에 대해 공개적으로 반대하거나 불만을 드러내는 것. 주로 시위나 연설, 집회와 같은 형태로 이루어진다.

보통 반대하는 대상을 뒤에 붙여 '법에 항의하다'처럼 사용. 공식적인 집회나 발언, 불만 표시에 적합하며 'speak out against'보다 격식 있음. 뉴스, 시위, 사회운동에서 자주 등장.
