プロプライエターとは、ビジネスや店舗、不動産などの所有者、特に小規模な会社やお店の持ち主のことです。

フォーマルな表現で、特に小規模店舗や宿のオーナーを指します。「sole proprietor」は「個人事業主」の意味です。大企業にはあまり使いません。
