회의나 행사에서 책임지고 진행하거나 이끄는 것.

주로 공식적이고 격식 있는 자리에서 사용하는 말. '회의를 주재하다', '재판을 주재하다' 등에서 사용됨. 일상 대화에서는 드물게 쓰임.

The judge will preside over the trial.

판사가 재판을 **주재할** 예정이다.
