어떤 일이나 생각에 너무 몰두하거나 걱정을 많이 해서 다른 것을 신경 쓰지 못하는 상태.

격식 있는 표현이며, 주로 머릿속에서 걱정이나 생각에 깊이 빠져 있는 상태에 쓴다. 'preoccupation with...'처럼 어떤 것에 집착함을 나타냄.
