何かを特定の考えや事実、条件に基づいて成り立たせること。主にフォーマルまたは学術的な場面で使う。

とてもフォーマルで学術的な表現。「is predicated on」として使われることが多い。論文や研究、分析でよく見られる。日常会話では使わない。「base on」や「depend on」と混同されがち。
